Good morning all, I hope you're enjoying your 4th of July Holiday period. As always I hope your weekend was a great one.

The wife and I had a very cool experience Sunday. Because we're now in the rainy season, you can count on a thunderboomer almost every afternoon. So we didn't want to risk the beach, and decided to walk the Sky way fishing pier. About halfway out I saw some people looking very concerned, as they peered over the concrete rail. The skyway fishing pier is actually the old roadway of the original skyway bridge and made of concrete and steel. Anyway, we could see something going on and walked over.  The roadbed is about 15 feet above the water and down below was a 250 - 200 lb green sea turtle in trouble.

In this weeks letter we talk about the loss of freedoms that we've experienced since Adams and his cronies put the Declaration of Independence in action. Then, in the market commentary we consider the second half of the year and why it might very well end lower than it is right now.  ( hint, it's all about the central banks and the BIS just said something disturbing)

July 4

Why do we celebrate this? Well of course we all know why. However I want to put in a little twist.

During the American Revolution, the legal separation of the Thirteen Colonies from Great Britain in 1776 actually occurred on July 2, when the Second Continental Congress voted to approve a resolution of independence that had been proposed in June by Richard Henry Lee of Virginia declaring the United States independent from Great Britain rule.

Another Friday. But not just any Friday, this is the Friday ahead of what many are turning into the 4th of July Friday. Many many Wall Streeters have already fled the city and don't plan to return until Wednesday. With the Holiday on Tuesday, and the market only open half a day Monday, they bailed out and started their long weekend.

Morning all, welcome to a new day.

I'm sure you all saw the action yesterday. It was nuts!  Then after the close when it was announced that ALL the banks passed the stress tests, they all announced dividend hikes and buy backs. Pretty funny isn't it? They can't seem to lend money to small business, but they can announce50 billion in stock buy backs.

Think about it. Is it possible? Can this market go to DOW 50K?  In today's letter we are looking at the reason that it "could" if certain criteria are met. Then of course we talk about the arguments against such a thing happening. I know it sounds absolutely insane to consider a market at 50K, but this is a different world.  This isn't 1980 folks. In 2017 Central banks are buying stocks. Over in Europe, Draghi is still pumping 65 billion a month into markets. They now own 10% of ALL European corporate debt.

This is a new world. A scary world. Give it a read folks, this could be important.

DOW 50K

I don’t know the number, but there must be like 10K newsletters out there. Some of them are pretty good, some pretty funny and some not worth the digital ink they’re written on.  But there’s certainly no shortage of them.

Over the many years I’ve been doing this letter, I’ve seen work posted on chat rooms, bulletin boards, web sites, blog sites, etc, from dozens if not hundreds of so called guru’s and experts. Like many, sometimes they’re hot, and sometimes they’re not. But as you cruise the net, it is fun to get all the perspectives.

Hi everyone.

Boy am I late this am. The wife is out of town, and I guess subconsciously I must use her morning activity as an alarm clock, because I slept over an hour past normal. If it weren't for the lawn crew making noise, I might still be asleep. Wow.

Good morning all!

I'm having some fits with my Internet this morning. I noticed the Comcast folks driving around the area last evening and this morning my connectivity is pretty hit or miss. Let's hope I don't go down here while I'm trying to post.

Good morning everyone, welcome to a new week.

I'm going to trust that your weekend was wonderful, as mine certainly was.  I left Friday with the wife to attend some meetings with her, and those finished up Saturday morning.  Well the good part was that those Saturday connections just happened to take place in a resort that we love to frequent when we can. So, Saturday afternoon was spent sipping cocktails by the pool, soaking us some sun and simply enjoying life.
