Choke Points
How are Guns like Bitcoin? At first blush it would be hard to make a comparison, but if you think about it for a while you come up with something fairly common. Think about it like this: if you want to exchange dollars for a bitcoin, how do you do it? Well you’ve got to go to some form of an exchange. Notable ones over the years has been Coinbase, Poloniex, CEX.io, Kraken, Bitfinex, BitPanda, or BitStamp. There are many others, but these had the big names. (actually there’s about 130 of them)

Good morning all, welcome to another day.

Yesterday I mentioned a couple times that the market felt heavy to me and I had little trust in it. Yes they shook off the morning sags and got us green for a while. But it didn't last and we spent the bulk of the session hovering around in the red. But later in the session the sellers emerged and at one point I saw the DOW off 326, and the S&P off 20.

Good morning all, welcome back from the 3 day market weekend. As always we hope it was a great one for you. Ours was quite quiet for a change. We didn't have any place we needed to go, and didn't have any plans for any get-aways, so we just sort of "hung out" at home.Actually it was quite refreshing. Have you ever noticed that when you do take those weekend "get-away's" you often come back more tired than if you'd have just stayed home?

Yes there's been another high profile shooting and unless you live on a remote Island, you've heard about it. Supposedly some nut walked into a school, and used an AR 15 to mow down 17 people and injure others. Obviously a very sad time in history, and one not to be taken lightly.

So we chat about this shooting in the Newsletter. Was it really as we've been told, or is there more to it? Was this the result of some lone nut, that wanted his 3 days of TV fame? Or was this the perfect patsy to carry out a wicked deed, planned by others? We chat about that and other interesting ideas.

Naturally we also talk about the insane market rise, and the fact that on Friday, ahead of the 3 day weekend, we sold off 2 of our three short term holds and took our profits. Is the run over? Or is it going back to the highs? Could we come in Tuesday to a red market? We chat about that and other ideas. Give it a read, it's worth it.

Another Shooting

Before we get into the meat and potatoes of this, let me start with a bit of personal biography. I’m a gun guy. I’ve been a gun guy since I was born, simply because my dad was a hunter and fisherman. I was raised around guns all my life. Shotguns, rifles and handguns were simply part of our home. It was as normal to me as a toothbrush.

Morning all, it's Friday and not 3 days too soon.

NOTE>> The markets are closed on Monday for President/Washington's  day. So yes, this is a 3 day market weekend.

Good morning all.

Let's start off with the school shooting that happened yesterday.  I don't want to be the bad guy, the conspiracy nut, the person that thinks something stinks like 5 day fish. But something is terribly wrong with this story. Are there real dead people? Unfortunately yes there is, lots of them and my heart bleeds for their families. Any time an innocent life is taken, for any reason, it's a very sad affair.

Happy Valentines day to you all!

I look at Valentines day as one of those necessary evils of life. Some people desperately need a little kick in the pants reason to show appreciation to their partners, and having a day dedicated to reminding people to remember them is a good thing. As much as I dearly love my wife, there's times when I forget to remind myself how blessed I've been, and V day brings it front and center.

Hello everyone, welcome to Tuesday.

You all know the question. But does anyone have the answer? The question is, was Friday's reach down to the 200 day moving average, and the subsequent giant "bounce" proof of a short term bottom, or was it simply the mechanics of a falling market, and a dead cat bounce?

Good morning all, welcome back from what I hope was a wonderful weekend for you all. I couldn't have asked for a better weekend, as the wife and I left Friday afternoon for a two day get away. The weather was perfect and the wife enjoyed the sunny skies by lounging at the pool for most of the day Saturday. Then Saturday evening we hit our new "favorite" eatery and ended the night  with a few cocktails while listening to a very talented duo playing guitars. All in all, a tremendous "win" and I wish it wasn't over.  I hope yours was as fun!
