Good "Summer Solstice" to you all.  Yes it's the 21st of June, which is the longest day of sunlight for the year.  While that sounds innocent enough, the fact is that throughout history, the Summer solstice has been associated with "harvest, sex and fertility".

For thousands of years, all manner of interesting customs have been passed from generation to generation, and almost universally it involves romance and sex.

Morning all, welcome to Wednesday.

Again I thank all of you for the well wishes for my mom and my Aunt. My mom grew up with two sisters and a brother, and they have always been close. One reason my mom and dad moved to Florida 30 years ago was so that mom could always see her sister, and they only live a mile from her. One sister passed about 6 years back, so seeing this sister in the hospital has really shaken her.

Morning all, welcome to a new day.

Last night got a little "Misty" at our place, as we got the news that my Uncle Rob had lost his 2 year battle with cancer. It wasn't a surprise that he was going to pass, but even when you know it's coming, when it does, it affects you.  Thank you to all that wrote in with well wishes for my mom and my uncle.

Good morning all, I hope your weekend was terrific. Mine was not.

This past week I had taken my mom to the doctors twice, for a nasty "goopy" cough, and Friday they didn't like it at all. So, Mom spent Friday afternoon/night, Saturday and Sunday in the Hospital. We got her back Sunday evening, but frankly she didn't look as well as I'd hoped.
On the Uncle front, we got a call Friday night that he's taken a really bad turn for the worse. Poor guy, the end is very near.  I truly hate cancer.

Hey folks, in this weekends free investment newsletter, we're telling you all about a free, "open house" that's being done across the nation. It's all about ham radio operators and how they function during an emergency situation. When the Hurricanes hit, it's often only the short wave radio guys that can get any communications out. Besides being "pretty darned cool" being an operator, it's very serious business when the SHTF.  So, we talk about the upcoming weekend of the 23rd, and how to find a local group near you to go visit and see what they do. We've even got the map of people in your area.

In the Market commentary, we chat about "the end" of this bull run. With the Central banks beginning to hike rates and reduce QE, there's a very good chance that we're going to see this bull come to an end. So we talk about that, and how preparing for it is important.  Please check it out, our free investing newsletters are pretty long, but that's because we want to be detailed.

As you all know, I like nothing better than to ‘help folks out” and over the years I’ve written a lot about such things as disaster prep, home security, self defense, etc. Over the past several years, I’ve written a couple times about emergency communications, and even had some “ham” operators in studio when I was doing my radio show a couple years back.

Good morning all, another Friday has rolled up on us and for me, it just didn't get here fast enough.

First off, thank you to all those who wrote in to give best wishes for my Mom and my Uncle. While it's a given that my Uncle will be visiting with the Lord sometime soon, my Mom's a tough old gal, and we got her shot up with some antibotics and some congestion medicines. At her age, they like to do all manner of things at the doc's, like x-rays, blood tests, etc. It seems like a run of the mill virus with a bit of bacterial infection mixed in, so we should be okay.

Morning all.

This is not how I wanted my day to start. As I mentioned to you all on Monday, my Uncle Rob is losing a battle with cancer. Last night things got worse, and I think the stress really weighed on my mom. The poor gal was up all night, coughing and hacking. That's disturbing for an 89 year old, and she's not doing very well this am.  I suspect that I'll be taking her to the doc's today.

Okay, so the futures are green at 8:00 am. That's pretty interesting because of the news we got out of Europe.

Hey Folks, the latest Free Investing Newsletter is posted. In this one, we talk about "This guy Trump" Is he good? Is he as bad as Robert De Nero says? Wasn't the North Korea thing worth something? Or are the liberal leftists right, and he "gave away too much for nothing concrete in return?

I think those people are nuts. Are you telling me that on the very first time a sitting US President meets with the Leader of NK, they should have 70 years worth of hostilities worked out, a timeline for denuking, a panel of investigators, etc? Give me a break. How about fist things first?? How about just getting to the table without killing each other??

So, we talk about that. Then in the Market commentary, we talk about the Fed's hiking rates, and what Powell had to say in his Q&A press conference. He was definitely more "hawkish", but the market gave him a bit of a pass. However on Thursday, Mario Draghi and the ECB are supposed to start laying out their plans to taper their own QE programs. Is the market going to accept that as well? We talk about that and a lot more, so give it a read.

This Guy Trump

I’ve come through a few Presidents in my life.  But never has one stirred the pot like the present. The people that don’t like him, just don’t “don’t like him” they hate him with a fervor that’s rare to see.

Just the other day, Robert De Nero went off the reservation at the 72nd Tony Awards, the annual ceremony that’s supposed to celebrate the best of Broadway. But instead of leading off with praise for the actors and actresses, he felt it necessary to change the script.
