Trying To Remain Festive
Hi folks. Yes it’s that odd week; you know the one. The week between the solemn observation of Christ’s birth, and the wild “go for broke” New Year’s eve.  In just 7 days the mood changes from serene and giving, to blatant excess.  I think it would be better to separate the two by 6 months, but I digress.....
It’s always an interesting week for me. Generally it is a shortened week as often the market is closed for a day, and even on the days that it’s open the volumes are horrid. Yet it is the week where more times than not the market makes gains. It is referred to as the “Santa Rally.”  Now it is too early to know if this week and the first week of January are really going to give us this so called rally, but my guess is that DOW 20K will be hit. Why? Because they can.  It has no real significance except for goofy people on CNBC to put on DOW 20K hats

Hey everyone, today's free investing newsletter is a little shy on investment talk. This letter is a bit warm and fuzzy, and I talk about what this season really means, especially the older I get.  Yeah, it's a little mushy, but know what?  I've seen more charity, more generous people and more people willing to help others this year, than I ever knew existed.  This is even more clear here at Christmas.

The other day we had the gent that runs Toys for Tot's here in Sarasota county in studio for a radio interview. Last year they delivered an incredible 70,000 toys to needy kids. That's just our one county folks. Amazing.  Hopefully this Christmas will even be bigger.

Besides, today is the winter solstice and boy that's music to my ears. Being the shortest day of the year, from here on out we start to pick up minute of light. At first it's only in the evening, but by January 7th, we'll start to add daylight to both ends of the day, almost 2 minutes per day. So we can enjoy looking forward to that too!

Merry Christmas!
You all get a break today folks! I'm not going to go off on a big rant about the ills of the world, or talk about the idiocy of what's happening out there. No, today we're just going to chat about a few things.

Wow, only ten days till Christmas.  Have you gotten your special people their presents? I have to admit... I'm not close to being finished.  (there's something new)

Good morning everyone, welcome back from your Christmas weekend. I truly hope it was a great time for you all. Our prayers go out to the folks hit by the wicked weather yesterday, as it is indeed quite sad to see giant tornado's sweeping across the nation in December. Stay safe out there!

Christmas Eve.  I am desperately trying to "get in the season" but it's sort of hard considering the weather. I understand it is like 70 in New York. Well we're on track to break the all time Christmas record down here...they're predicting 86 degrees tomorrow!

While I don't miss for one second that goofy white stuff that falls out of the sky, I could surely love some mid 60's and no humidity.  As I'm  typing this at 8:15 it is 78 degrees and the humidity is 91%.  Merry Christmas.

Good morning all, welcome to CHRISTMAS week.  Yes it is indeed Christmas week. Not "the winter Holidays"  The political correctness crowd can yell and stomp all they want, but people have been celebrating Christmas for generations. Not the winter holidays. Not "the season".   Get over it.

I hope you all had a good weekend? We sure did. Our closes friends were down from NJ all last week and we wrapped up with them this weekend by taking them to a very fun place on the Florida coast that we enjoy a lot. They had a magnificent time, and can't stop talking about it. So we succeeded in showing them a good time. It is very sad for us that they fly home as I'm typing this.  Truly good friends are a very rare commodity. Cherish them.

Good morning all, welcome back from the Christmas Holiday!

I hope Santa was good to all of you. It always amazes me how that chubby old guy seems to know exactly what I want every year. How's he do that?

In any event, we had a really wonderful day, and it's always a good time when the family is together. I hope you all enjoyed it as much as we did.

Merry Christmas everyone!  There's no bogus political correctness here at IY. If you're a Christian you're celebrating Christmas, not "the Holidays". If you're of another faith, fine, I hope you are or have already celebrated your particular "special day".  All we preach about is people caring about each other, enjoying sharing their time with them, and taking the time to be thankful for all you have.  It's hard to argue against that.

Pretty much as expected, they've gotten us green and they're clinging to it. I don't think there was much to worry about on Christmas Eve, no matter how extended we are or how many charts might be flashing the danger signs.

So, as I don't expect to be buying anything today, I'll sign off now with another Christmas wish for you all.... I wish you a really wonderful time.

I've been hearing from people around the nation, writing in telling me their families are arriving and they're all getting excited for some Holiday fun. GREAT!

Take care all, we'll see you tonight in the letter, and then of course on Friday morning.

Merry Christmas Eve folks.....

If you have "little one's" running around your house, you know the excitement is almost to a fever pitch as they just "can't wait" for Santa to show up. If your little one's have turned into big ones, you enjoy the holiday in a different fashion... you simply enjoy spending time with them.  My hope is that what ever your family situation is, you enjoy tonight and tomorrow with them and have a wonderful time.   So, Merry Christmas and here's to hoping you have a healthy, prosperous new year.

It's Christmas Eve. The European markets have all closed already, having shut down early. Our markets are only open until 1, but frankly all the action will most likely be done by 11 am.
