Good morning all, and yes, somehow it got to be a Friday again. Whew! that was quick.

Yesterday we were talking about the DOW and how it needed to break out of its sideways cone, if it was going to go on to make the move to challenge the all time highs. Well it was on it's way to trying that, at one point up over 240 points. But it started leaking air as the day wore on, we coasted into a mixed close. The S&P fell by 2, the NASDAQ by 15 and the DOW pulled off a 115 point gain.

It’s Monday morning. I’m sitting here looking at the spaghetti string models of Hurricane Irma. I have to tell you, I’m not warm and fuzzy with what I see. Yes it’s a week away. However, on this particular day, 4 of the “better” models have Irma hitting Southern Florida and coming right up the center of the state.  Only one has it putting in a really hard right turn late in the week and sending it up into the Carolina/Virginia area.

In a most remarkable happenstance, both the DOW and the S&P dipped below their 50 day moving averages yesterday and "just like dat" they both bounced up and over said levels. It must be magic, no?

Another Friday. But not just any Friday, this is the Friday ahead of what many are turning into the 4th of July Friday. Many many Wall Streeters have already fled the city and don't plan to return until Wednesday. With the Holiday on Tuesday, and the market only open half a day Monday, they bailed out and started their long weekend.

Friday.  How on earth can it be Friday already? I don't know, but it most certainly is.

So yesterday was "that day".  What day is that, you ask?  How many times have I moaned about the fact that you can't really go short this market, because it feels that at "any time" they'll put on one of those mindless 200 point romps?  I'd say I've mentioned that so many times you're tired of hearing it.

Hello all, welcome to Tuesday.

I almost welcome random days of the week now. Every day that I get up and there's no reports of mushroom clouds anywhere on the globe, I figure we're off to a good start.

Yesterday the market was well on its way to considerably lower prices for most of the day. As I said in the afternoon update however, I felt that they'd probably try and make a bit of a stand and bring us up a bit the closer we got to the close. Sure enough, I must have gotten lucky as they moved the market well off the lows, and in the last hour, they even rescued the 50 day moving average at the 2098 level. In fact so "amazing" is this market, that after being as low as 2087, they brought it right back and planted it smack-on the 50 day. Just like magic.

It's May already?? How on earth did that happen?

Good morning everyone, welcome back from the weekend. Down here in Florida, we finally got the "perfect" day on Sunday. For weeks on end it has been absurdly hot and humid, with 95% of September still hovering at 90 or above. Well Saturday night a cool front blew through, and Sunday dawned cool and clear and "crisp". What a pleasure it was enjoying the outdoors with low humidity and temps in the high 70's for a change.  Of course they say that by Wednesday we're back to 90, but at least it was a blessing for a day.

Okay, so Friday the robots jammed us higher, forcing a ton of shorts to cover and creating just the buzz they needed for the weekend talk shows

Good morning all, there's a lot to talk about....

The single biggest news item by far is one that I had a hunch would show up eventually and it did... Ebola is in the US. Something has been very very wrong with this particular Ebola outbreak since day one and frankly I'm not sure just what we're dealing with here. Let me give you an example of what I mean...
