Good morning all, have you woken up from yesterday's snoozefest? Good!

Yes it was the flattest of days. It was a low volume sleep fest, and when the final bell rang, we lost 8 DOW points, lost 0.13 S&P's and gained two on the NASDAQ. Yawn.

The S&P saw its lowest volume day in 12 years. Literally.

Hi everyone.

Boy am I late this am. The wife is out of town, and I guess subconsciously I must use her morning activity as an alarm clock, because I slept over an hour past normal. If it weren't for the lawn crew making noise, I might still be asleep. Wow.

Why Does This Happen?

I want to be in a good mood. I really do. I've got a great wife, two good kids, and I like what I do. In fact, my wife, who's been connected to the medical industry for over 25 years, has bought a home healthcare business in Punta Gorda, FL.  For the first time in her life, instead of working for someone else, she'll be working for herself. So obviously I want the future to go along well. I really do.

But I'm also not a couch potato sitting there listening to propaganda pushed at me by ABC, CBS, MSNBC, etc. I know what's going on around the world, and as much as we'd all like to sit back and figure that Trump's going to do good things and help rebuild some part of America, the future is fraught with problems. Big ones.

Decision day.

I'm sure that most of you are aware that the vaunted "108 days without a 1% fall" has  been snapped. Yesterday the markets put on a pout party, starting shortly after 10 am and it never recovered.  The DOW dropped 237, the S&P fell 24.

We lost the "box" we'd been trading in. The floor of the box on the DOW was about 10750. We closed below it. The floor on the S&P was 2350. We fell below it.

Morning all, let's take a look at things....

Last night it became clear that a huge portion of the United States disagreed with Obama and Hillary concerning their views of the economy and what's best for America. So the Republicans swept the entire Congress, increasing their position in the House and taking a majority in the Senate.

The initial reaction from markets is that the results are "good". Our futures are up quite strong and have been rising since I first opened my eyes this morning. The idea of course is that with full control of Congress, the Republicans will be able to get some initiatives passed concerning ways to get the economy moving.
