Animal Farm

Remember Animal Farm?  It caused quite the stir so many years ago when it was published.  By definition, it was a satirical Novella. Let’s look:

(1945) is a satirical novella (which can also be understood as a modern fable or allegory) by George Orwell, ostensibly about a group of animals who oust the humans from the farm on which they live. They run the farm themselves, only to have it degenerate into a brutal tyranny of its own.

The End

I was supposed to do a long winded piece concerning which candidate would be better for the US economy. That’s going to have to wait, however... I had to laugh out loud the other day listening to Hillary talk about the economy. Most parts of her speech was plagiarized from Trumps speech on the economy back on Monday. All of a sudden she’s against TTP. All of a sudden she wants “fair” trade deals. All of a sudden she’s going to do all the infrastructure work Trump talked about.

My question is... having been in Government in one form or another for 40 years...why didn’t shy try any of that before? Now we’re supposed to believe she saw the light and “now” it’s time for her to lead the path to prosperity? Give me a break, please.

Hello everyone, welcome to the start of a sad Friday.

Bastille day is a French holiday. Way back during the beginning of the French Revolution, a group stormed the Bastille. The Bastille was a mix between a fort and a political prison. The people stormed it in hopes of finding weapons and ammunitions to better fight off the kings men.  To this day it is thought of as an act of liberation

Is Paris Burning?

I like to study history, because quite often what we are told happened, is quite different from what really did happen.  While it is attributed to just about every world leader of recent times, the adage “history is written by the winners” goes back millennium, in various twists.  I’ve seen it as “History is written by those who have hanged hero’s”  and I’ve seen other variants such as  "History is the version of past events that people have decided to agree upon."

While researching various incidents that occurred during WWII I was given a book called “Is Paris Burning?”  The thrust of the book was that when Hitler realized that France was going to be liberated, he instructed the Generals in charge of the French occupation to burn Paris to the ground as his troops evacuated the area. But the main man in charge of that operation had reservations about doing it. It didn’t seem like a humane thing to do, and he continued to put it off. Ultimately he refused to give the order, despite an almost hysterical Hitler demanding it.

A Quick Note First Concerning Weapons Training

Quickly, before we get into today’s discussion, I had a lot of folks write in and ask about the weapons training I mentioned in Wednesday’s article. So instead of writing back to 30 or 40 folks, I figured I’d give a quick response here.

Last year, my friend Mike who is the head trainer for our weapons defense company blocked off virtually every Sunday from June through December to give my readers private One on One all day weapons training classes.  Lessons were given at our private range here in Sarasota Florida, and yes, folks flew in from all over the Country for their particular lesson date. We had folks from Louisiana, Mississippi, Washington, Texas, New York, and even Italy, come for a day of specialized training. Several have come back for even more in-depth classes.
