A Nostalgic Moment

I’m writing this on Friday as I’m watching the inauguration ceremonies. I didn’t really have the motivation to break into a long winded article however, because at 8 am I had to endure a Root Canal procedure.  While it went well, it is stressful and basically made me sleepy.

But watching the splendor and grandeur of the ceremony, was moving to me. For all the problems we have  - and boy are they many, for all the divisiveness, for all the vitriolic bickering, there was still something regal about it all. How? The very fact that it still functioned.

Not many people understand just how different things are here as in comparison to the rest of the world. In so many countries, the person in “power” just stays there. They get the military to surround them and they become dictators. No one runs against them because they’ll be killed. There’s no coup attempts because the military is paid to protect the incumbent.  In many nations, there’s no peaceful transfer of power. Usually thousands have to die before someone new sits on the throne.

Yet here; despite the deep state, despite the infighting between intelligence agencies,  despite the crooked media, despite the war mongering Pentagon lunatics, despite the elitist banking scum,  they allow a peaceful transfer of power from one regime to another. No coup’s, no armed stand downs.  At 12 noon Friday, Donald John Trump was sworn in as the 45th President.

You have no idea how unique that is. Now of course in this particular swap out, things appear to be very different. See, for years on end I’ve written about how there’s really been no difference between the Republicans and the Democrats because they both dance for the same puppets. I have likened it to professional football...

Most people watch some amount of football. There’s two “divisions” so to speak, the NFC and the AFC. Each conference has 16 teams in the United States, four in each division (North, South, East, West). The top six teams from both conferences (division leaders and two wild card teams) play each other, and the last undefeated team in each conference plays in the Super Bowl.

While these two conferences have differences as some utilize high power offenses, while others use smashmouth defense, the bottom line is that both sides MARCH TO THE ORDERS OF THE NFL.  So each Sunday when you see them competing back and forth, just remember that all their rules, all their schedules, all their “deals” are governed by the “NFL” itself.

That’s how it is with our two party system. The Rep’s scream at the Dem’s and the Dem’s fire back at the Rep’s and it’s all great theatre. But like the NFL, they take their marching orders from the higher ups too. The elites, the old world bankers, the IMF’s, the Rothschild’s and JP  Morgan’s and Goldman’s and Rockefellers.

But then came Trump. We are going to have all year to discuss and argue about whether he was placed as a plant for some nefarious reason.  As I’ve mentioned before, there’s always the chance that Mr. Trump was “selected” by the so called elite for a purpose. But what purpose could it be?

Remember last week I presented you with a Quote From John F. Kennedy? Here it is again...

For we are opposed around the world by a monolithic and ruthless conspiracy that relies primarily on covert means for expanding its sphere of influence - on infiltration instead of invasion, on subversion instead of elections, on intimidation instead of free choice, on guerrillas by night instead of armies by day.” “It is a system which has conscripted vast human and material resources into the building of a tightly knit, highly efficient machine that combines military, diplomatic, intelligence, economic, scientific and political operations. Its preparations are concealed, not published. Its mistakes are buried, not headlined. Its dissenters are silenced, not praised. No expenditure is questioned, no rumor is printed, no secret is revealed.”

Compare that statement by JFK to this portion of Trumps Inaugural address to the people Friday:

For too long, a small group in our nation’s Capital have reaped the rewards of government while the people have borne the cost. Washington flourished, but the people did not share in its wealth. Politicians prospered - but the jobs left and the factories closed. The establishment protected itself but not the citizens of our country. Their victories have not been your victories; their triumphs have not been your triumphs; and while they celebrated in our nation’s capital, there was little to celebrate for struggling families all across our land.

Not exactly the same but it sort of rimes.

So if the President of the US was willing to talk about secret societies that are accountable to no one, that basically “run the world” how on earth could an “outsider” like Donald Trump get in? (Don’t forget JFK was assassinated for bucking that “system) Seems impossible. Yet he’s now the President. So, was he “selected” by these “secret people” for some agenda? If so, what is it?
Again we have all year to talk about whether he was selected to manage an economic meltdown, or if he was selected to be Israel’s protector, or if he was selected to be the “fall guy” and they’re going to pull the economic rug on things and make it so ugly that no one would ever want an outsider/Republican again for all time.

But what I saw Friday was really quite unlike anything I’ve ever seen before. Along with the pomp and ceremony which harkens back to procedure, and protocol, Trump stood up to make his acceptance speech to the crowd and it was the very same story he said on the Campaign trail.  He said that it was time to take the power from Washington and give it to the people. He said it was time to stop protecting everyone else but ourselves. He said he’d abolish radical Islamic terrorists.  He wasn’t worried about Protocol, or the pomp. He wasn’t PC. He was Donald Trump saying things NO other President has ever said.  Standing right in front of that pit of vipers, he said flat out, “For too long, a small group in our nation’s Capital have reaped the rewards of government while the people have borne the cost. Washington flourished, but the people did not share in its wealth.”

That’s pretty powerful. How many others have had the guts to stand on those steps and call out Washington, the lobbies, the poor decisions, the lost jobs, and ultimately say “And most importantly, we will be protected by God?”  It was really something to watch.

Maybe it’s the pain killers I’m on after my root canal, but I liked the ceremony. I liked the Protocols and I liked the transition. I especially liked the speech, because it didn’t waver. Who’d have ever thought I’d crack a smile watching a political process?  Amazing.  However, and this is a big big big however...as much as I want to believe, as much as he’s saying the exact “right things”, one has to wonder if we’re being led by the nose.

I am really hoping ( maybe against hope) that this isn’t some  warped version of the WWE. You’ve all seen it, the professional wrestling shows. The scripted backstabbing, the “over the top” plots. When I step back a bit and look at the big picture, the media seems “over the top”. The break from tradition on inauguration day, seems like it was scripted for shock value. His cabinet is a who’s who of Goldman Sachs alumi. The supposed poisoning of Roger Stone.  The standing ovation for Hillary Clinton.  All I’m saying is lets test the Kool-Aid before we down the cup.

As the day wore on, my smile went to hell in a handbag as we started to see the protestors acting like animals. They were breaking windows, and tossing flares in cars. They were blocking people from walking to the next street. Tell me, what does breaking a shopkeepers window have to do with not liking Donald Trump? How about throwing rocks at the police?  Absolutely nothing. Just another snowflake intolerant liberal showing their true intellect. Trump’s going to have a hard time creating an economic rebound when the labor pool is made up of ignorant, ill-informed, cuddled, protected, safe-space babies.

Look snowflakes, if you believe that Trump is Satan himself, that’s fine it’s your right. But busting up storefronts, torching cars, and throwing bricks is simply an invitation to get yourself shot in my book.

One thing that I feel very certain about is that 2017 is going to be a very different year. Keep your fingers crossed!

The Market...

So we had wondered if the market “sag” for the past month was just a digestion of the giant move the market made after the election, or if it was signaling the end of the move higher and the beginning of a fade to correction.

On Friday the market responded positively to inauguration day. We ended the day with the DOW up almost 100 and the S&P up 7. But in all reality all that did was place the S&P dead center in the middle of the range it’s been in since December 13th.  Likewise, all the DOW did was move from slightly “under the range box” to back into it on the low side.

So what now? Now that Trump’s in do we finally see that last hurrah rally to all time new highs and we snag the golden ring of DOW  20K? Or do we continue in the sideways range box until ultimately it can no longer support itself and we begin a fading correction? The jury is still out. I’ve been leaning towards seeing that last hurrah run, and maybe it still comes, but it’s not looking all that healthy.

I tend to think that if they don’t make a really concerted effort this week to at least get us back “near” the highs, we could see this exhaust itself and come up shy. So lets see if Friday’s big green gains were the start of the final attack on 20K, or a desperate attempt to keep the wheels from coming off. We’ll know soon enough.  Stay tuned.
