NOTE>>>>  Our friends fly back to NJ  early tomorrow morning, and thus this afternoon is the last time we'll see them until, well, who knows. So at some point today  the wife and I are cutting out to spend time with them. The window is closing, as they'll be packing and cleaning up their condo rental this evening, so they can get to bed early.

Hi all, another day dawns.

Yesterday was a meaningful flush.  In yet another failed attempt for higher early in the session, they rolled it over again and this time nothing was safe. Even the sectors that they'd been hiding in for "safety" got sold.  It was indeed ugly, and it caught everyone's attention.

Good morning all, welcome back from the weekend. Naturally I hope it was a tremendous time for you all.

Ours was quite fine thank you.  On Saturday the wife mandated that the kitchen was off limits, as she embarked on the great Christmas cookie bake.  So, I went and did the goofy things that needed doing, like groceries, etc. She stayed behind all day and created a cornucopia of wonderful stuff. Chocolate chips, mint cookies, peanut butter/chocolate bars, walnut frosted, and a dozen other styles got baked up. Just enjoying the smells coming out of the kitchen was enough to keep you hovering around.

Morning all, we've one of those Friday things upon us.  Incredible how fast they come.

So yesterday was another one of those "go like hell" for a while and then roll over and lose most of it, days.  While we did end the day green across the board, it was nothing like in the morning where the DOW was trying to play with + 350 points.

Good morning all.

Yesterday while the wife and I were enjoying a great day of hosting our guests from NJ, it seems that the market went on another one of its wild rides. Somehow that just doesn't surprise me.

Call it death throes, call it indecision, call it what you might, things are NOT good in market land.

NOTE>>> I mentioned the other day that our friends are down from NJ, and it seems like later today we'll be taking them to some fun areas and catching lunch/dinner. So there will be no afternoon update.  We also think that we'll be taking them to the Dali museum on Friday, so that day also might only have a morning update.

What a wild day yesterday was. From up 368 to red by 200 and back to green, only to end the day down about 50.

Sheesh what a hot mess this is.

Hello everyone, welcome to another day.

Well, yesterday ended up the way I thought it might, but it didn't "get there"  the way I thought it would.  What I wanted was a big plunge right at the open that peeled off 300 or more points, and then a rip roaring "Vee" style recovery. Instead we actually opened green, then rolled over and slowly fell 500 points. Then, we slowly started working our way back.

Good morning all, welcome back from your weekend. I truly hope it was a great one for you all.

Ours was VERY good.  Our "bestest" friends from NJ came into Sarasota  Friday night and we got to see them on Saturday evening. We enjoyed some cocktails and conversation, and made plans for Sunday. Then, on Sunday it got even better. Another NJ friend who moved to the Clearwater area last year came down, and all of us enjoyed a nice brunch, followed by hours of reminiscing and friendship.  There's nothing better for the soul than getting together with "true" friends, and it was a great weekend. Although the weather was horrendous, with heavy downpours on and off all day, it didn't matter a bit. We were in their rented condo, and just enjoying the conversation.

You all know the quote:

December 7, 1941, a date which will live in infamy,  the United States of America was suddenly and deliberately attacked by naval and air forces of the Empire of Japan.

Hi all.

Back on Tuesday, when those enormous sell programs hit, it certainly raised a lot of eyebrows. It got my attention, because while I understand where the selling came from, I still didn't understand the why they did it. Why did they decide on a random Tuesday that risk was now toxic and they needed to cut their exposure by 40% or more?
