The FREE Investment Newsletter That Really Works!

In a twist of the time/space continuum, somehow the Sunday edition of the free investing newsletter is actually posted on Saturday evening. Yes folks, it's there in all its glory. And, what prey-tell is in this issue? CIVIL WAR. What??? Yes, you read right. Is the US barreling towards a Civil war?

The fight between the truly fringe left and the moderate to far right people is escalating daily. Protests, shout downs, following politicians into Movie theaters and restaurants, etc. Day after day, there's some unhinged lunatic communistic leftist, threatening Republicans and even threatening to assassinate the President. This isn't a fad, this started over 2 years ago and is still building momentum.

So, we talk about that in the general commentary, and then in the market commentary, we mention things such as the giant intra-day reversals we've seen lately. They're really stunning. Wednesday for example, the DOW started the session with a gain of 285 points, yet it ended the day RED by 165. That's some stunning turn around. What's it mean? Why that sort of volatility? We chat about that and more, so please give the letter a read, it's good stuff.

Civil War, Is it Coming?

If you didn’t look for it, you wouldn’t know, and frankly, most don’t look for it. No, most people are quite content to go on with their lives, watch their goofy TV shows, post meaningless junk to face book and think about what beer they’ll buy for the weekend games.

The world seems almost perfect to those people. They get up, they say hi to their spouses and 2.4 kids, they walk past the white picket fence and get in their leased vehicle, and head to an office, where they spend a few hours working, and a few hours posting to social media or sneaking porn.

Good morning everyone, welcome to another Friday and the last one before the 4th of july.

This is an important Friday for a lot of reasons. I tend to think that a lot of the "upside" we got yesterday was because not only is today the last trading day of the month, it's the last trading day of the Quarter AND it's the last trading day for the first half of the year. Added all up that's a lot of window dressing and I think that market participants used it to fatter up their portfolio's as best they could yesterday.

Good morning everyone, welcome to another day.

Normal, right? I mean it's perfectly normal to be up 280 points, and end the day red by 165, isn't it? No, it's not. This market is being tossed around like a rag in the washer. One one side are the Central banks that need this market ever rising, to keep all the derivatives from imploding and on the other side, we have those that feel prices are too high, debts too big, and the economy softer than being reported.

6.27.2018 - Field Day Revisited Bookmark

Hi Everyone,

In today's free investing newsletter, we start off with a review of the weekend's "field day" for ham radio operators. As you might or might not know, when there's a serious emergency such as a hurricane, often it is only the short wave operators that have the ability to communicate. Cell phones and land lines are often down for days and even weeks, but a proper short wave set up can always operate.

So this past weekend the wife and I went to a local club to see how they set things up in the case of an emergency, and we had a blast talking to the people and checking out their equipment.

In the market commentary, we talk about this manic market, where it can start off the day with the DOW gaining 285 points and end the day in the RED by 165. For 6 solid months now the market has bounced, dropped, popped, dipped, and gone totally nowhere. Now we have the DOW below its most important moving averages, and the S&P has failed its own 50 day. Is the end near? Are we going to bounce, or see a roll over? We discuss that and more.

Field Day Follow up

Last weekend I had mentioned that on Saturday and Sunday, the 23 and 24th, was going to be the “open house” field day for all the ham radio operators across the country. Once a year, people that enjoy playing with short wave radios, go out into “unusual” areas and set up their equipment, to show how they operate, especially during an emergency.

I went to our local club, who had set up at the local Red Cross station. But it was a bit more than that, as I didn’t realize the Red Cross had “donated” a small room in their building, for a permanent “short wave emergency communications” station. We’ll chat about that in a minute.

What a LOUSY bounce. After a sluggish morning, they finally picked up the pace and for a while there it looked like they were going to let things run for a bit. But later in the afternoon, things started slowing down and the close was simply spectacularly disappointing.  Both the S&P and the DOW finished the day well off their highs, with the DOW under its 50 day and the S&P holding just slightly above it.

Hi all, welcome to another day in whacky world.

Yesterday got pretty interesting. All day long the market was soggy, and then around 3 pm  things really rolled down hill. The DOW was down 495 points, the S&P down 50. It was really interesting to watch. So, they had to pull a rabbit out of the hat and they did that by dragging Navaro on screen to tell everyone that things are fine, we're not heading to a trade war, etc.

Good morning all, and welcome to another week in market land. I truly hope your weekend was a good one. Down here in hot and humid Florida all our plans got "washed out" big time.

Saturday was running around day, doing some groceries and what have you. That was supposed to set us up for going bike riding and beaching after Church on Sunday. Well, mother nature had different plans. Right at about noon time things started looking nasty and at about 1 pm the rain and thunder rolled in. But that was just the prelude. At about 2 pm, the mother of all lightening storms descended on us, with bolt after bolt hitting trees and the ground in our area.

Good morning all, it's Friday. Again. Wow.

I'll do my customary whining about time flying. I can't believe that the local stores are geared up for the 4th of July already. Amazing how fast this year is going by.
