Hello everyone, welcome back from the weekend. As per the usual, I hope it was a great one for you. Down here in sunny Florida, the sun took a bit of a break and we had some cloudy, misty weather on Saturday. That lasted into Sunday morning, and then the "transition" happened. On Sunday, my mom ( who's 90 years old) asked me if I'd take  her to the super Walmart so she could get some things. When we went into the store, it was 67 degrees, cloudy and drizzling.

Good morning all, welcome back from what I hope was a wonderful weekend for you all. I couldn't have asked for a better weekend, as the wife and I left Friday afternoon for a two day get away. The weather was perfect and the wife enjoyed the sunny skies by lounging at the pool for most of the day Saturday. Then Saturday evening we hit our new "favorite" eatery and ended the night  with a few cocktails while listening to a very talented duo playing guitars. All in all, a tremendous "win" and I wish it wasn't over.  I hope yours was as fun!

Hello everyone! I trust you're up and about this morning after what I can truly say was the best super bowl of all time. Admittedly, I'm not a rabid sports fan. I will watch the occasional game now and then, I enjoy hockey more than anything else, but I  usually tune in to playoffs and big games. Well, last night's game didn't disappoint anyone.

Good morning all. I guess today we'll see if I read the whole Thursday/Friday sell down wrong and it was just another in a long long string of "one day wonders" that just happened to stretch into two days.

Okay so yesterday they didn't want any part of a 9 day DOW losing streak and they made their point. After being up nearly 200 points, when the final bell rang, we had 150 DOW points showing and 15 on the S&P. It was a nice bounce, but it did come with a bit of a caveat. See, as we get near the close of business every day, the exchanges announce the "imbalances' to the buy or sell side. Often they're a few hundred million to the buy or to the close, which they try and "pair off" by the 4 pm bell. ( often it takes them a bit longer and that's why the closing price you see a 4 pm, might be a little different than say at 5 pm when it's all settled.)

It had to come and it looks like today it will.  We all knew there had to be a bounce, and I actually bought into the SPY yesterday in anticipation of it. But it didn't work, I stopped out.  I had thought seriously of buying back in at the close, simply because the market can't just go down every day, but I didn't tell you guys I'd try that, so...I didn't.

Good Morning all, welcome to the start of what could be an incredibly interesting week.

As you all know, Thursday evening brought us the decision by the UK to leave the EU, and it caused such an uproar that the DOW fell 610 points on Friday.  Then over the weekend, the back and forth dialog between differing opinions was simply staggering.

We heard that Scotland might try and stop the UK from Leaving. We heard that petitioners were pushing for another vote.  We heard that the EU was going to on one hand push them out quickly while on the other, doing what they could to make this a long drawn out process. We heard that England would go broke, we heard that England would thrive.  All in all, we learned what I said Sunday morning…we have no idea what comes next

Good morning all, welcome to Thursday and another crazy day.

Okay, so yesterday afternoon I laid out for you all that I thought the volume was big enough, the Advance/decline line ugly enough, the 52 week lows terrible enough...to consider a short term bottom. I wanted to get a piece of the bounce, and as luck would have it, shortly after I sent the 1 pm update, where the DOW had already bounced about 90 points off the low, it faded back down again. While it never got to -550 again, it did get down to about -500 and once again started up.

Hello everyone, welcome to another day....

Yesterday was interesting in a lot of ways. We opened big and green, then as we approached the European market close the volume want nuts and we faded all the way from up  150 to RED by a handful. Then the volume dried up, and we inched higher, going green by about 30 points near the 1 pm hour.

We were slightly green for the rest of the session, and then in the last half hour they picked up the momentum and we ended the day up 123 DOW points.

Good morning all, welcome to Tuesday and another episode of "how the world churns".

This morning we saw a textbook perfect, in your face example of what passes for our so called "recovery".  Knowing that the most important thing in the universe is keeping your stock price up, JNJ announced a 10 BILLION dollar stock buy back AHEAD of their earnings release. Can you imagine that? They wanted cushion the reaction to their earnings release by announcing a buy back ahead of their release.
