Emotions

This is a tough letter to pen. You’ll understand why in a few moments.

Thanksgiving has always been my favorite holiday. Each year that rolls around, I explain why. The easy reason is that it’s a time for friends and families to get together. We certainly don’t do enough of that, and I’m guilty too.

But for me the real reason Thanksgiving is special, isn’t JUST because we get to see family we haven’t seen all year, or that there’s a cornucopia of tremendous food in the kitchen, or that we get “a day off.” No, for me the wonder of the day is that we have a Holiday for giving thanks. This is something, many of us are woefully inadequate at.

I am guilty as charged. I should be on my knees every single day saying thanks for all the good things that there’s been in my life. Yet life gets in the way. People get sick, we get too busy, we get caught up in the rat race. And then, instead of taking a breather and saying a prayer of thanks for all the good we have, we whine and complain. There’s “never enough” whether it’s time or money or love or health, or what have you.

So I am grateful that Mr. Abe Lincoln decided that we needed a National day of Thanksgiving. See, everyone learned the story in grade school that in 1621, the Plymouth colonists and Wampanoag Native Americans shared an autumn harvest feast that is acknowledged today as one of the first Thanksgiving celebrations in the colonies. To this day, kids dress up as Pilgrims and Indians and have school plays about it.

However, it wasn’t standardized across the colonies. In fact, while almost all communities had church services where a “thanksgiving remembered” feast would occur, it wasn’t until 1863, in the midst of the Civil War, that President Abraham Lincoln proclaimed a national Thanksgiving Day to be held each November.

Well I’m glad he did so. At least for one solitary day out of the whole year, we are reminded that there’s things to be Thankful for. So, it’s always been my favorite Holiday. We do get to overindulge in great spreads of food, we do get to see family and friends. We do get to take some time and look around and say our own version of “Thank you” for all we do have.

Let the games begin.

Last night, I got the news that one of my very closest friends has had a stroke. He's stable, but not out of the woods. His name is Jim and I'd appreciate it if you could toss a prayer for healing to him. As you can imagine, that rocked my world, and then to see the crap going on with the election, I'm in a bit of a mood that I don't wish on anyone.

Elections, China, Bitcoin and More!

Okay, where am I going to start? Let’s try this… a couple weeks back I mentioned to you all that a gent I know who’s done very well with Bitcoin and some other crypto’s, told me that himself and several of his crypto buddies thought that the new coin coming out was going to “be everything bitcoin was supposed to be, but isn’t.”

What’s left to say?

When you’re a market “pundit” you’re supposed to talk about the market. But when you have an election of this importance lurking, talking about that election makes a lot of sense. Why? Because markets do indeed move based on political reasons as well as fundamentals, and what have you.

Hello all, welcome to the new week. Judging by the futures this morning, it's going to be an interesting one for sure.

Historically September is the bumpiest month of the year. If you add in all the uncertainty of this election, coupled with what appears to be a big push globally to "lock down" again because of Covid, things are pretty dicey.

Hi everyone. Welcome to more madness.

Early this morning the futures were big and bright green. But then out of the blue, down they went. Obviously something happened and sure enough it was Trump.

Madness

Everywhere I look lately, I see nothing but madness. Or it’s at least madness from where I sit. Hey, maybe it’s me. Maybe I’m too old, or too stuck in by belief system. But what ever it is, it’s growing.

In good old Florida, once again it’s Broward county and Palm Beach that’s mired neck deep in voting controversy. One might think that with 16 years to “fix” the problems in that area, we’d have a nice easy election process. Instead we’ve got outright fraud. Again.

The main Stream press and the liberal left continues to say there’s no proof of any foul play. Well, duh, what do you expect them to say when they want Gillum and Nelson in office? Has any main stream media outlet talked about the boxes of ballots left in an AVIS rental car, driven by a Democrat, at the Miami Airport?

Off the Rails

It’s been quite a while since I left the reservation and did a talk about “conspiracy” stuff, and today I’d like to go there for a change.

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’re well aware that since the Election of Donald Trump, there’s been nothing in the news OTHER than Trump, Russia, hacking, leaks, Comey, Wikileaks, Emails, etc. etc.  It never stops, and one of the most prescient forecasts I ever made was Election night when I said to everyone “this isn’t over”  I didn’t know how right I was.

Good morning everyone, welcome back from your weekend. I hope it was a "ton-O-fun" for you all. Mine wasn't quite as wonderful as I was hoping. What I had in mind was a nice bike ride to the beach, then a good 2 mile stroll along the waters edge, followed by a great ride home. What I actually got however was "orders" to take down curtains, clean ceiling fans, etc.  Ha... !   Of course there were no orders, it was simply time for some spring cleaning. We have been so void of rain in Florida for the last 5 months that we're in a drought, fires are burning all over the state, and the dust is just ridiculous. 5 months of no rain makes for insane dust accumulation.
