Good morning, happy Wednesday to you....

They tried and tried but couldn't pull it off. They got us to 2400 yesterday and we spent the bulk of the session trying to get past it. We'd bump into it, fade, bump into it, fade....on and on

Good morning all, happy Thursday to you.

No need to hash out yesterday.  With the buzz about impeachment reaching fever pitch, it was the reason ( or the excuse)  for a high volume sell off.  The SPY traded 172 million shares, the highest volume day we've seen in many months. Most of it to the downside.

Good morning everyone, welcome back from your weekend. I won't bore you to tears telling you of mine, but I will say thank you to all who wrote in to wish me a happy birthday!  I'll simply say that my wife set up what could only be called a perfect weekend for me, and we really had a wonderful time. I sort of wish it didn't have to end. Oh well, there's always next year...I hope!

Hello everyone, welcome back from your weekend. As always I hope it was a really good time for you and your family.

Ours was fairly quiet, with nothing major going on. We did get in a really nice 4+ mile walk on Sunday, and the weather held up remarkably well again. But we also know that these wonderful days are numbered. We're just about to enter April and according to our local weather guy, in June the average daytime highs is....90. We're soon to go from high 70's to mid 90's with 80% humidity.  Enjoy this while it lasts Florida folks!

Happy St. Patrick's day everyone.   I very much wish to hope you all the best for your "Holiday".  I read some astounding figures about how much corned beef and cabbage will be cooked up this weekend and it was truly amazing. My wife's half Irish, and yes...at some point this weekend I too will be engaging in some.  ( Note.... If you take a nice slice of corned beef before you drown it in water and the spices, and put it in your smoker (If you have one) it makes a darned tasty snack)

Good morning all, we've made it to Friday and Mr. Market is in a bit of a whiny mood this morning. When I first flipped on the monitors at 6:30, the futures were down 88 on the DOW and 8 on the S&P. Since then they've bounced around a bit, but they're still down

Is It Safe?

Monday I was pondering a topic for the International Forecaster. It's a publication that was started by the late great Bob Chapman. I continue to donate articles to it to this day. As I was watching the futures, despite our own market's being closed for Presidents day, I decided to share some thoughts that I shared with my readers last week....

Good morning all, is today the day?   After a month of trading sideways, they decided on some random Tuesday (yesterday) that is was finally time to go back and attack DOW 20K.  Why yesterday? You can all come up with your own ideas, but the bottom line is that there wasn't really any catalyst. Earnings are still coming out as normal, meaning that if they used GAAP accounting they missed the estimates, but if they report "non GAAP" they're all basically beating estimates. Then of course we have more companies announcing they're going to take on debt and buy up more stock.  So nothing's changed there.

Good morning all, we've made it to Friday. It's hard to believe how much has happened this week. From the second debate, to the "video" to the wikileaks to you name it, there's been no shortage of "things' going on. Frankly I'm tired of all of it. These are the days I wish I owned a little island in the middle of nowhere.

Good morning all, welcome to Friday. We've made it.

Yesterday was significant. Why do I say that? Because today just about every main stream media outlet is talking about how there's "no way" That Deutsche bank becomes a Lehman event. How the German Government wouldn't let it fail. How it isn't the same situation as Lehmans, etc.
