Good morning everyone, another day awaits...

So yesterday was a very low volume affair.  The S&P and NASDAQ made a slight gain, but the DOW couldn't pull it off.  However, the real action to watch is the Russell 2000, as the small caps have really been struggling lately. In fact, if not for a late day push, the IWM would have closed below its 50 day moving average.

Hello everyone, we've made it to Thursday, in what can only be called a wild week.

NOTE>>>  I've been conned into going with my wife to her office today.  She needs someone to man the phones while her and some employees go to a meeting. I'll still be doing updates as usual, as I will have my laptop with me.  I'm only mentioning it because I'm sending the first update of the day a bit earlier than usual, as we'll be on the highway during the time I normally hit the send button.

Don't forget folks, the DOW is just 30 stocks, and the Central planners like to move that index higher as a confidence builder for people. But if you look at the broader market, you see some disturbing trends. The NYSE is the biggest stock market. It is now flirting with breaking a trend line that's been in place for many months. The Transports got slammed yesterday on the jump in oil prices. The XLF which is the basket of financials, is weak. The IWM, which is the proxy for the Russell, is really having a problem here.

Good morning, all, welcome to Tuesday.

Okay, so yesterday the market was soggy, having dipped hard at the open, recovering to flat and then selling down a bit in the afternoon. All in all it was a "go nowhere" sort of day. But inside the markets, there were things going crazy. the transport index fell, taking out a trend line that's been in place for a long time. The IWM, which is the Russell 2000 fell pretty hard. The financials were weak, retail wasn't doing so hot, and all in all... the day was poor.

Good morning all, we've made it to Friday.

There will be NO afternoon update today. I'm traveling to Arizona for the Financial Fest event being held in Scottsdale tomorrow.  In fact, I hope that any of you who live in the area stop by and introduce yourself. I'd really enjoy meeting you.

Okay, on Sunday we said in the newsletter that the market was overbought and probably setting up for either a pause or a pullback. So far the week has been more of a pause than anything else.  Monday was up, Tuesday and Wednesday were "dead flat" and yesterday they rallied the troops in the afternoon to reverse a red start.
