Hello all, today in the free investing newsletter, we start off discussing  the Miss America pageant and how they're removing the swimsuit competition.  Is this good for society? Is it good for all the little girls that once dreamed about being Miss America? Or is this the Mee-too movement going too far, and somehow making it into a sexist situation?  We chat about that.

In the market section, we talk about the low volume rally that's going on, and how long it might last. We've made some very good money in this rally, but like all things, nothing lasts for ever. So, we chat about that. .

Good morning all, welcome to a new day.

I won't rehash the whole thing, as you all probably know what happened yesterday.  From down 600 early on, we ended the day up 260.  Quite the reversal.

Good morning all, welcome to another day in the Trump rally!

Yesterday the market spent the bulk of the day just digesting the huge gains from last week. But sure enough, later in the day they got their act together and "boom" up we went. While it's true that the S&P couldn't make it back to green, the DOW managed to tack on 40 more points.

NOTE>>>  I mentioned this yesterday, but want to repeat it for the "morning people".  Our closest friends from "up north" are here in Sarasota for a well deserved vacation.  We almost lost Ellen a month back as she suffered a pretty nasty heart attack. So next week, there's probably going to be a day or two where I'm not going to be in the office. Instead I'll be spending some quality time with two folks that we dearly love.  I don't know which days we might be taking them out, but I'll let you all know when I do.

Good morning all, welcome to Tuesday and another episode of "how the world churns".

This morning we saw a textbook perfect, in your face example of what passes for our so called "recovery".  Knowing that the most important thing in the universe is keeping your stock price up, JNJ announced a 10 BILLION dollar stock buy back AHEAD of their earnings release. Can you imagine that? They wanted cushion the reaction to their earnings release by announcing a buy back ahead of their release.

Morning everyone, welcome to 'hump" day. Let's get over it....

First I want to extend a prayer to all of you that live on the Coast from NC all the way up to Maine. The weather is throwing you folks a real drenching, with a lot of flooding probable. Models suggest the coast could see 20 - 25 foot waves all the way to Long Island by Sunday. Then the tropical storm brewing in the tropics is now a borderline hurricane and a ton of models suggest it's going to come ashore somewhere between NC and Maryland. That would be a 1-2 punch of enormous proportion. If you live there, please keep an eye on things closely, and I hope you've done some basic prepping for such an event.

Good morning all, welcome to Wednesday!

Okay, so yesterday the market puked all over itself.  We had opened really poor, and they only tried one time to form a rally. But it fizzled out quickly and for most of the day we hovered around the morning low. Then in the last hour, the wheels fell off and we plunged to new day lows.

Morning all, welcome to a new day.

Okay so yesterday was soggy all day, but they didn't let the bottom fall out. They flirted with green a few times, but when the final bell rang, we were red on the DOW and the S&P. It wasn't a horrible drop and one could make the case that a 33 point drop in a market this high...is insignificant.

Hello everyone, welcome to a new week. I certainly hope you all had a great weekend.  I almost feel guilty being up in NJ this week enjoying bright blue sky, while my wife is in FL putting up with day after day of horrible rains. (almost)  In Tampa, the rain has been so relentless that flooding is an almost daily occurrence. Before I had left to come north our local weather guy mentioned that the average rain fall for the whole year was about 26 inches and parts of Tampa had already gotten 46 inches. Where's Noah and that boat?
